Al-Jaafari receives a written message from the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation


Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received on Wednesday a letter from Yusuf bin Ahmed al-Othaimeen, secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during a meeting with a delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

"The Secretary-General of the Organization congratulates the Government and the people of Iraq for the victories achieved against terrorism and the liberation of the city of Mosul," a statement from Al-Jaafari's office said. "The organization reaffirms the work of everything that would bring about security, Stability in Iraq ".

The statement quoted al-Jaafari as saying that "the gangs of the Daash terrorist claimed that they are working according to Islam, and Islam is innocent, and Iraq has achieved a great victory, and defeated the advocate, and defended himself, on behalf of the Arab and Islamic countries and the world," adding that " "He said.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister pointed out that "the Sons of Iraq, with all their affiliations, fought terrorists, and made sacrifices to eliminate terrorism and liberate their lands."

"Iraq is a rich country with multiple resources and has the fundamentals of advancement, but it is going through extraordinary circumstances: the security challenge and the war against terrorist gangs," he said. "The economic challenge is the result of lower oil prices and the cost of war."

"All international organizations and the world must continue to support Iraq until security, stability, development and reconstruction of Iraqi cities are achieved," Jaafari said. "Iraq is ready to cooperate with the organization and support efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism."

For his part, the delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, that "victory in Iraq is a victory for the Islamic nation, and highly appreciate what has been achieved, and committed to support the unity of Iraq, and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities," stressing the continuation of "the Organization in its efforts, Iraq to hold a conference (Mecca 2) in Baghdad to support the unity of Iraq, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
