Rafi al-Issawi says Iraqi Forces Coalition is not formed on sectarian grounds
[B]Landmark Sunni politician and former finance minister Rafi al-Issawi said on Saturday he may stand trial in case of ceasing the politicization of judiciary.
He also noted that the Iraqi Forces Coalition is bigger than an electoral alliance.
In press statements, Issawi indicated that the coalition has been formed in the provinces that fell under the control of ISIS.
"Today, as ISIS terrorists are now crushed, residents of these provinces aspire to usher in a new phase."
Bringing the residents of these provinces together for a consensual understanding about the post-ISIS is now a necessity, both politically and socially, the former minister asserted.
He yet stressed that the coalition will be open to aligning itself with other factions as it is not formed on sectarian grounds.
On the possibility for him to stand before judiciary, Issawi said he will do so in case there is no political meddling in its affairs.
I know, the case I face is mainly a political one, the politician concluded.
