Several MPs urged Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri to set a date for a parliamentary session to grill Minister of Trade Salman al-Jumaili.
The MPs asserted that there were several suspicious delays for this session, warning that Jabouri must be held accountable if Jumaili grill was to be delayed again.
The MPs also asserted that corrupt traders offered them bribes and pressured them to cancel the grill session.
The traders also tried to convince some MPs to withdraw their signatures from the grill request, even though Federal court asserted that withdrawing signatures after submitting the request is ineffective.
Jumaili was accused of holding corrupt food items deals and favoring shady Iranian companies over legitimate companies that would provide Iraqis with healthy goods.
