Abadi sponsors meeting on Mosul Dam: The dam must be preserved for its great importance

Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi on Thursday held a technical meeting on the Mosul Dam, stressing the importance of maintaining the Mosul Dam because of its great importance in providing water and electricity to the citizens.

Abadi said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press that the latter "sponsored a meeting between the Ministry of Water Resources and the Italian company supervising the treatment of the dam and the engineering advisory team. The meeting was attended by the Italian ambassador and the US ambassador to Baghdad."


Abadi said, according to the statement, "the need to address the obstacles, and continue to work on the project, and the maintenance of the Mosul Dam because of the great importance in providing water and electric power to citizens."

He thanked the Iraqi and Italian companies involved in the maintenance of the dam.
For his part, the Italian ambassador praised the victorious victories and the liberation of Mosul, and the price of "the leadership of Abbadi for this battle and the victories achieved."
