Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi at the Ninewa Operations Headquarters Monday morning received a delegation of Christian residents of the city of Mosul, in the presence of a number of security leaders.

"Our ambition is for all displaced people and the people of religions, nationalities and sects, including Christian brothers, to return to their homes in Mosul," he said. "The natural response to the urge is to live together.

Dr. Abbadi added that our diversity is a pride for us, and it must be preserved and thwarted a plan that wanted to color the Iraqis in one color and tear apart the unity in which they lived for thousands of years.

"Our duty is to protect the citizens and provide services to them regardless of their affiliation, and in my neck as an official to deal with all Iraqis without discrimination, and coexistence must prevail among the people of Nineveh," he said.

For their part, the delegation congratulated the victories in Mosul and the courage of the Iraqi forces and liberated the cities and villages, expressing their pride in the cultural diversity and their keenness on the unity of the Iraqi people and their readiness to work and cooperate in order to facilitate the return of all displaced people.
