Minister of Planning reveals the amount of funds needed for reconstruction after Isis

“The country will require a great deal of money and time to rebuild the areas liberated from Isis control,” said Iraqi Planning Minister Salman Jumaili. While it is too early to estimate the exact size of the money, it is likely to amount to about $ 100 billion.
Al-Jumaili also discussed the poverty profile in the country and the methods tackled by the government, indicating that poverty rates were declining before 2014, but the rise of Isis has changed this equation and increased poverty, especially in the provinces of Nineveh, Salah al-Din and Anbar.
The minister also commented on the current financial crisis, saying that “as the country recovers, the question will be how long it will take to resolve such a difficult, deep and complex crisis.”
