Ministry of Electricity cancels the contract of an Emirati company in Basra

The Ministry of Electricity has concluded the contract of an Emirati company contracted to operate and rehabilitate the electricity network of the electricity distribution districts of northern Basra.
According to a document in which the director of the General Directorate of Electricity Distribution of the South, Mohamed Abdel Amir Hussein, “the minister agreed to terminate the contract of Dow Al-Jumaih for investment in the distribution sector of the northern regions of Basra and to take legal action against them because of the company.
“The contract with the UAE company was for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the electricity network of the districts of the distribution of electricity north of Basra has been canceled because of their lack of work since the date of signing the contract and even though the frequent correspondence with them and the latest warning book.”
He noted that “the UAE company will be loaded all the legal consequences under the contract and instructions in force.”
