Sadrist Movement postpones Friday protests

Sadrist Movement's committee overseeing popular demonstrations announced on Thursday it had postponed the protests slated to be held on Friday to until a further notice

In a statement, the committee hailed the efforts exerted by Iraqi security forces in securing celebrations of civilians during Eidul Fitr

At these protests, the followers of the Movement have been demanding the change of electoral commission, election law and fighting corruption

The Iraqi MP of the National Alliance Abdul Karim Abtan said in a statement that the Sadrist Movement and the National Alliance will participate in the Iraqi Parliamentary elections on one list to defeat the political sectarianism

The Sadrist Movement figures convened meetings with the National Alliance many times and they agreed on developing a plan with points in common including crisis management, the return of displaced persons, building of infrastructure of the retaken areas, political and electoral visions. https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/en/sto...riday-protests
