He called on the Ministry of Oil to "strengthen the role of the General Company for Maritime Transport and cooperate with them by supporting the marine terminal by processing heavy fuel to accelerate the opening and operation of the plant," stressing that "the need to contract with them to ship their cargo from outside Iraq to be able to benefit from the proceeds of shipping operations in the purchase New vessels to maximize its fleet. "
The establishment of the station is in implementation of one of the paragraphs of Article IV of the Law of Maritime Agencies No. 83 of 2012, which states that the duties of the General Company for Maritime Transport to provide ships, tankers and floating commercial units that enter the water and Iraqi ports with navigators, fuel, fresh water and livelihood.
