Forces, tribes who fought ISIS should contest on one electoral list: Lawmaker

Badr Razaq al-Haidari, a lawmaker affiliated with al-Ahrar Bloc, called on Tuesday on the forces and tribes who engaged in fighting the terror group of ISIS to contest in the coming election on a unified list.

It will be the best opportunity for them to win seats, he added.

In a statement, he indicated that the Iraqi displaced community will vote for those who fought ISIS terrorists either in the liberated or in the southern provinces.

The Iraqi society appreciates all those who offered their blood and efforts exerted to retake occupied lands and repel the danger of terrorism, he noted.

We call on those who fought ISIS to contest in the coming election on one list, the lawmaker stated, explaining that they should prepare for the elections and unify their ranks.

This comes as some tribes who partook in the operations against ISIS said they are going to contest in the coming elections.
