Iraq's Abadi, King Salman to discuss anti-ISIS war, counter-terrorism

Iraqi PM Haider Abadi's visit to Riyadh will tackle means to eradicate ISIS terror group as well as drying up sources of terrorism financing, MP Abdul Bari Zebari said.

Zebari from the parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, said in a statement, "Talks with King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz will include files of terrorism and the ongoing war against ISIS".

Abadi will visit Saudi Arabia on Monday upon an official invitation from King Salman.

His regional tour will also include Iran and Kuwait.

Zebari, who is a member of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Party, denied reports Baghdad would mediate between Saudi Arabia and Qatar to solve the current Gulf crisis.

"A mediator must have powerful ties with the two parties at variance, We don't have good relations with Saudi Arabia or Qatar," he said.
