Sadr calls for investigation on forcing lawmakers not to sign on withdrawing confidence from Maliki 05/06/2012 19:26:00 Baghdad (NINA) – Leader of the Sadrist Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki not to force any lawmaker from the State of Law, or others, not to sign for withdrawing confidence from him.
In answering a question about Maliki's demand to investigate if signatures of lawmakers demanding withdrawing confidence from his government are forged, Sadr said that such claim needs proof, beside, the President accepting their demands means approval.
Sadr added, "If forced signatures investigated, then prevent voting by force must be investigated too; I appeal to the President to give instruction that no one is to force lawmakers not to sign for voting in support of withdrawing confidence."
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki called on President Jalal Talabani to sent signatures, of those demanded withdrawing confidence from Maliki, to specialized agency to investigate the authenticity of the signatures. / End
