MP Accuses PMF of Detaining 8,000 Sunnis in Secret Prisons

A Sunni MP to the Iraqi House of Representatives on Saturday accused the Shi'ite militias of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) of detaining thousands of kidnapped Sunnis in secret prisons.

Speaking at a televised interview, Badr al-Fahl from the Sunni Iraqi Allied Forces said he has information that up to 8,000 Sunni individuals have been kidnapped by PMF (publically known as Hashd al-Shaabi) and detained in four secret prisons.

One of the prisons is in Hamra village, between Beji and Tikrit and the other is in Dor 600, which is located inside Beji Refinery in Salahaddin province, according to the MP.

One more prison, called Tunnel Prison, is situated in Qanat district of Baghdad and the last one is Yarmuk prison to the south of Baghdad.
The MP said they have followed up the case but the attempts were to no avail.
