One of the researchers and professors at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at Dhi Qar University discovered five species of rare algae that are registered for the first time in Iraq.

According to documents obtained by "Al-Ghad Press," the researcher, "Abdul Wahab Ayal, in the Faculty of Education at the University of Dhi Qar, recorded the existence of five types of rare algae discovered in Iraq for the first time."

The documents revealed that "the discovery of these algae came as part of a study conducted by the researcher on the Euphrates River in the city of Nasiriyah, Dhi Qar province."
"These algae of the species, greens, and igloines are two types (round and oval), gold, and zero," she said.
