Exclusive: Parts freed so far in Mosul explained on map


Iraqi Joint Operations Command has released a map showing the areas controlled by ISIS terrorist organization in Mosul were shrinking, The Baghdad Post reported Thursday.

The map, released by War Media Cell, shows the security forces recapturing most of the neighborhoods on the right bank of Mosul and the shrinking of the area controlled by terrorist elements.

On the map, the spots marked in green represent the previously ISIS-held areas that have been liberated.

The white spots refer to the areas still controlled by ISIS. While the red spots .refer to areas that are witnessing military clashes between the Iraqi army and the terror group.

The publication of this map comes after 242 days of military operations within the ranks of the 'We Are Coming, Nineveh' offensive.

Meanwhile, Iraqi Defense Ministry has published two maps for Iraq before and after the dominance of ISIS terrorists.



The areas in black refer to the areas controlled by ISIS.
