Nasiriyah airport is witnessing an increase in the number of passengers and international and domestic flights


The Ministry of Transport announced Thursday a significant increase in the number of passengers and international and domestic flights at Nasiriyah International Airport during the past three months.

"The total number of trips to and from Nasiriyah Airport reached 48 domestic and foreign flights, while the number of passengers reached 607 in less than three months," said Transport Minister Kazem Fangan al-Yamami in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press.

"There is a strong demand from passengers to use air transport through Nasiriyah airport," he said, noting that "there are reductions in ticket prices and amenities to meet the rising demand for passengers."
He stressed "the importance of Nasiriyah airport becoming a pioneer in low-cost aviation."

The Minister of Transport that "the airport will see the addition of a new international flight after the Eid al-Fitr and the trip to the Iranian capital Tehran every week," noting that "the province of Dhi Qar witnessed international flights weekly to Tehran and internal to Baghdad and Erbil."
