Allawi meets Egyptian President in Cairo: We appreciate your role in supporting Iraq
Vice President Iyad Allawi met on Wednesday with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Egypt's position on supporting Iraq's unity and sovereignty and refusing to interfere in its internal affairs.

The media office of the vice president said that "Allawi in the presidential palace in Cairo, met today with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. During the meeting, they discussed in depth the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them and develop them in all fields in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

"The meeting also discussed the file of the war on terrorism and recent victories achieved by Iraq in this area in addition to the recent Gulf crisis and its consequences."

Allawi stressed on the importance of speeding up the convening of a regional security summit to find out the problems and challenges facing the region and reach urgent solutions to it and cut the way for those who do not want the peoples of the region to enjoy stability and prosperity.

Allawi praised "the leadership role played by Egypt on the Arab and regional arenas and its honorable position as the leadership and people alongside Iraq."

For his part, President al-Sisi reiterated his country's position to "support and support the unity and stability of Iraq and reject all forms of interference in its internal affairs."
Vice President of the Republic Iyad Allawi arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to head a parliamentary delegation from the Al-Wefaq movement on a five-day visit starting today and ending next Sunday.
