The document: isolating Alla Talabani from the presidency of the National Union bloc in parliament

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) decided on Monday to remove the head of the bloc in the Iraqi parliament, Alla Talabani, from office without disclosing the reasons.

Kusrat Rasul, deputy secretary-general of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, issued a decision to exempt Talabani from her post.

"The decision was made during the meeting of the deputy secretary-general of the National Union, Kusrat Rasoul, with a member of the political bureau of the party, Hiro Ibrahim," the decree said.

The official spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Chuan Daoudi, denied earlier Monday the news that the head of the parliamentary bloc, Ala Talabani, was relieved of her position in the party.

Talabani has been criticized by Kurdish media for her comments on the Arab origins of the Talabani family, which she later denied.
