IS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi killed in Syria: State TV


The Syrian state television announced that the supreme leader of the Islamic State group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was killed in air strikes on the city of Raqqa, on Saturday, according to a statement published by the so-called Islamic State’s Wilayat al-Raqqa.

The British Newspaper ‘Daily Mirror’ revealed that Syrian media reports stated, on Saturday, that airstrikes on the City of Raqqa, north of Syria, killed al-Baghdadi, while official military sources did not confirm the news.

Several media outlets also reported that the city of Raqqa witnessed intense air strikes, while the Islamic State-owned ‘Amaq’ published photos showing the damage caused by the air strikes.

Meanwhile, some Twitter activists quoted the news about al-Baghdadi death from the Syrian state television.

Noteworthy, official source did not confirm the news until now, while the United State put $20 million bounty on al-Baghdadi.
