An attack on an oil well in northwestern Kirkuk has been foiled, a source said Thursday.
He added the well is run by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Kurdish forces entitled to protecting oil wells in collaboration with al-Dabs police discovered an explosive device planted near well No. 96 of Hassan Oil Field run by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Natural Resources, a statement said.
The bomb has been dismantled without causing any casualties or fatalities, it added.
This comes as the Iraqi cities are witnessing a state of insecurity and chaos as terror attacks target civilians.
Terrorist groups like ISIS, IMIS and others are targeting those cities by booby-trapped cars, suicide bombs and other terrorist means in which the residents are feeling insecure and furious.
