Iraqi Jets Bomb IS Court in Hawija, Kill 17 Militants

Iraqi warplanes pounded the Islamic State (IS) Sharia Court in central Hawija city in southwestern Kirkuk province on late Tuesday, killing 17 IS militants.

A security source reported that the warplanes bombed the building of the IS court in the district of Hawija, which resulted in the death of 17 militants, including a prominent leader in the city named Abu Barraa al-Muhajir.

Moreover, the air raid led to the destruction of the court of IS in Hawija.

A large number of IS militants who fled Mosul moved to Hawija, increasing the number of militants in the city which has now become the main and last stronghold of the extremist organisation in Iraq.
