ISIS targets civilians lining up for food aid in Mosul

ISIS has launched a mortar shell on a civilians' gathering in front of a warehouse the terrorist group has used to store food supplies in al-Rifai district, located in Mosul's right bank, eyewitnesses said on Tuesday.

They added that the Iraqi army has discovered the warehouse while recapturing the district.

When the security forces were handing out flour on the citizens, waiting in long queues to receive the staple, the group's terrorists launched the attack, leaving many with injuries of varying severity, they noted.

Residents of Mosul's right bank, besieged by ISIS, suffer from an acute shortage of food, water and medicine, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in these districts, particularly the densely populated Old City with narrow alleys.

It is estimated that there are a few of ISIS terrorists left in Mosul, the second largest city of Iraq. It is expected that they will desperately defend the last pocket of the city that has been once their main stronghold in Iraq.
