IS Sleeper Cells Kill 7 Iraqi Troops in Liberated District of Mosul

ERBIL A group of allegedly Islamic State (IS) sleeper cells carried out on Tuesday an attack on the Iraqi forces in a previously-liberated district of Mosul, killing at least seven troops.

Iraqi army officer Ibrahim Muzaffar confirmed the report and revealed the assault had taken place in north of Old Mosul district.

The insurgents escaped the scene after the attack and they are still at large, Muzaffar pointed out.The district where the attack took place had been announced fully secured form IS last Friday.
