Abadi gov't swims in corruption, $112 b missing



Around 57 percent of Iraqi cash from oil sector, estimated at $112 billion, has gone missing, Iraqi MP Ahmed Haji Rashid said on Sunday.

Rashid, head of the finance committee in the Iraqi parliament, revealed in press statements, "Accurate reports confirm 57 percent of the cash made from Iraqi oil sector has been transferred outside Iraq".

“The Iraqi government uses $115 billion while $58 billion is retained by the private sector. $112 billion is confirmed missing,” he added.

Abadi's government faces accusations of corruption. Kurdish MP Adil Nuri, said Abadi has no "serious will" to overcome corruption.
