120 IS Militants Killed During Liberation of Sahha District in Mosul

The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) announced the death of 120 Islamic State (IS) militants in al-Sahha district in west Mosul which was recaptured by the Iraqi forces on Friday.

The CTS spokesperson Sabah al-Nu'man said that 120 IS extremists were killed in the operation to retake al-Sahha district from the IS organisation.

Al-Nu'man told Mawazin News “IS lost 120 elements during the battle to liberate al-Sahha neighborhood on the right side of Mosul."

The counterterrorism forces are trying to complete the closure of the siege on the Old City district along with the federal police, Rapid Response Forces and the Iraqi army from the northern side, he said.

He revealed that the remaining area held by the IS militants in Mosul does not exceed three or four square kilometers.

However, the big challenge facing the Iraqi forces in Mosul is the presence of a large number of civilians in narrow areas, in addition to the infiltration of the terrorists, most of them foreigners who are fighting to death.
