Federal Court to approve parliament's approval of "reform package"

The Supreme Federal Court confirmed on Tuesday that the vote of the Council of Representatives by resolution (15 of 2015) on the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (307 for the year 2015) called "package reforms" does not mean delegation of powers, pointing out that it is the same ratification on condition that the agreement with the Constitution and laws the window.

"The Federal Supreme Court held its session under the chairmanship of Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud and the presence of all its members received an appeal against the decision of the House of Representatives No. (15) for the year 2015."

The statement added that "the prosecutor considered this decision a delegation of the House of Representatives powers to the Council of Ministers, which issued a package of reforms by resolution (307 for 2015) and said that this contradicts the principle of separation of powers contained in Article (47) of the Constitution.

He pointed out that "the court found that the decision of the House of Representatives came to ratify the decision of the Council of Ministers and stipulated for their effectiveness to be in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in force."

The statement pointed out that "the possibility of any citizen to appeal the decisions resulting from ratification before the Federal Supreme Court or any competent court whenever it found a violation of the Constitution or laws," noting that "the court decided to respond to the lawsuit because it is not based on the Constitution."
