Electoral Commission discusses Kurdistan legislative election's preparations

The Board of commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission in the Kurdistan Region has held a meeting with political parties' representatives to discuss the mechanism of holding the fifth round of Kurdistan legislative election, scheduled to be held next November.

During the meeting, setting up a system for updating voters' records and preparations of the election have been addressed.

The meeting aimed at eliciting their opinions and collecting their proposals on the mechanism of the election and the means to oversee it, Shirwan Ahmed, the spokesman of the Kurdistan Region's Electoral Commission, said in a press conference attended by the Baghdad Post.

Ahmed highlighted the importance of political parties' participation in discussing these issues to support the electoral process.

Kurdistan Regional Government has allocated a budget of 22bn Iraqi dinars to hold the election, where more than three million voters will cast their ballots.
