A member of the parliamentary legal committee Amin Bakr said on Wednesday that the government withdrew the draft amendment to the first law of amnesty because of the existence of a view of the government on the draft law. Bakr said that "the government withdrew the draft amendment to the first law of amnesty because it has a point of view on it and asked to wait until it is discussed within the Council of Ministers," continuing that "the government wants to reduce the number covered by the amnesty law and has decided to withdraw from parliament before the vote."

The House of Representatives has postponed the vote on amending the draft amnesty law during its regular session held on Tuesday at the request of the government.
