Al-Faleh Al-Abbadi: Saudi market wants Iraqi products

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Falih, said on Monday that local markets in his country wanted to obtain Iraqi products.

This came his meeting with the accompanying delegation with the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi in the office of the latter in Baghdad today, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi government.

"During the meeting, bilateral cooperation between the two countries was discussed in the fields of oil, industry, petrochemicals, electricity, minerals, trade and banks," the statement said.

Cooperation was discussed to support OPEC oil prices, the statement said.

"Abadi stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation at a steady pace for the benefit of the two countries," the statement said, adding that "cooperation between the countries of the region will lead to a comprehensive renaissance benefiting all."

The statement added that al-Faleh "conveyed the greetings of the King of Saudi Arabia and officials in the Kingdom and their blessing for the achievement of Iraq's victories, pointing to the importance of Iraq's role in the region and the steps taken in all areas."

The statement concluded that Al-Faleh "expressed the readiness of Saudi companies to cooperate and invest in Iraq and the desire of the Saudi market to obtain Iraqi products."
