The Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Monday that Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi will hold in-depth talks with his Saudi counterpart Khaled al-Faleh in the field of energy and the extension of the OPEC agreement.

"The visit is aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries and cooperation in the fields of oil and energy," ministry spokesman Assem Jihad told the Journal News.

Jihad said that "it is hoped to be discussed on the mechanism to extend the reduction of oil production led by OPEC with his Iraqi counterpart."
The spokesman pointed out that the reduction of production in the first half of this year and control of the supply of all the factors leading to raise the price of "oil" in an effort from producers inside and outside the Organization "OPEC" to take these important steps that would support oil prices in global markets .

He also pointed out that "the views of the producers have tended to extend this agreement between Iraq and OPEC for an additional period in order to support oil prices."
