General Paul Funk as the new commander of the US military in Iraq



The US military announced on Saturday the appointment of General Paul Funk as its new commander in Iraq, while an additional 250 soldiers have been sent to the country this summer.

"About 250 soldiers from the headquarters of the 3rd Corps in Ford Hood will be deployed this summer in Kuwait and Iraq to control the final decision-making process led by the United States," the US military's Star Inn Stripes website said.

He will lead the military operation against the terrorist advocate, and will also lead the 3rd Corps and Fort Hood camp, General Paul Funk, replacing General Stephen Taussend, the current commander of military operations.

"General Paul Funk was Assistant Assistant Chief of Staff of the US Army, the third commander of the operation after Sean McFarland and Stephen Townsend."
