    The Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control said that its work is limited to inspecting goods entering the country and it is not within its powers to control the entry or non-entry of such goods, since it is the responsibility of the Customs Authority.

    The head of the agency, Saad Abdel Wahab, told the "Journal News" on Thursday, "The device has a program that has been in operation for more than four years, which is (pre-examination in the country of origin) where an international tender was announced to contract with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, International ".

    He added that "the program aims to examine the goods in the country of origin and provided the companies concerned with specific Iraqi specifications and five industries (food, engineering, construction, textile and chemical) and exported certificates of conformity of goods in the country of origin, that is the trader to submit a request to the company, Including the inspection of the factory or factory and taking a sample of the goods to issue a certificate against him and this certificate is included in the database of the device and in the testing office of the company in Baghdad, in addition to the presence of offices at border crossings visually inspect the goods.

    He pointed out that "the law of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control No. (54) of 1979 in addition to the law of the national system of quality control and the latter law confirms that customs are responsible for the entry of goods into the customs compound or the country, And health ".
