Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers chairs a meeting to discuss tax reform

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alak, chaired a meeting to discuss tax reform, in the presence of officials of the General Authority for Taxation, the Advisor to the Prime Minister and the Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance and representatives of the tax reform company EY.
"The government believes in the possibility of correcting the tax track in Iraq, especially as it believes in the diversification of revenues," he said. "The imbalance lies in working in traditional ways."
The Secretary-General stressed the need to amend the instructions issued on the tax exemption that applies to many companies. "
EY stressed that this exemption is a major mistake that must be repaired, calling for support to the General Tax Authority to ensure that the auditor does not have to visit the department and be a burden on the employees of the department.
