The Kirkuk Provincial Council voted on Tuesday for a decision to hold a referendum on the governorate and to compel the government to implement Article 140
A news source said that the provincial council of Kirkuk voted during its meeting held today, a decision to include a referendum to maintain and oblige the government of the Center to implement Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution.
The source added that the vote was held by a majority of those present and the Arab and Turkomans boycotted the session.
The Kirkuk provincial council voted earlier Tuesday to unanimously reject the parliament's decision to drop the Kurdish flag.
