Jumaili: There is an Arab desire to develop economic relations with Iraq

The Minister of Trade, Dr. Salman Al-Jumaili, revealed an Arab desire for economic openness with Iraq, increasing the volume of trade exchange, as well as developing relations in various fields.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Al-Jumaili said that after the Arab summit meetings in Amman and his meetings with Arab ministers of trade and economy during the meetings of the Economic and Social Council, there is an Arab desire that most of the ministers he met A way of economic and trade relations, and overcome the past period with new mechanisms, allowing openness to Iraq and entering the Iraqi market through investment projects and partnership with the Iraqi private sector.

The statement added that Al-Jumaili affirmed the Arab desire expressed by the Arab brothers, not only on the economic and commercial sides, but also in other sectors, and reaching the stage of integration, interaction and cooperation in various fields to achieve the desire of our peoples and provide new opportunities at the level of investments and partnership in various sectors. .

Al-Jumaili pointed out that Iraq currently needs Arab contributions to the reconstruction of the liberated areas, the reconstruction of infrastructure projects, the return of families to their areas of residence and the restoration of stability to these areas after it was subjected to terrorist terrorism and terrorist organizations.

Requires great government efforts, in the field of building and reconstruction to overcome the stage of urging and moving forward. The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Commerce is now working on revising the agreements signed with all the countries of the world, especially the Arab ones, and coordinating with the Iraqi ministries and bodies to prepare new formulas that take into consideration developments in the level of economic and commercial relations. Contribute to sustainable development, activate political relations and serve investment projects and partnership with the private sector, and develop its capabilities and expertise through openness to the world.

The Ministerial Council of the League of Arab States held a meeting in Amman on 26 March, in which it issued recommendations, the most important being a draft resolution containing a strategy for Arab customs cooperation to modernize customs ports and facilitate and enhance Arab trade security, And to call on Member States to comply with the decisions of the relevant Arab Development Summits with the requirements of the Trade Zone, including support for the least developed countries (Palestine, Yemen and Sudan) and the creation of a "compensatory fund" for countries whose customs revenues are affected.

The Arab Strategy for Aquaculture, submitted by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), which supports Arab food security, including fish, molluscs and grasses, has been put in place. The Plan of Implementation of the Arab Emergency Food Security Program in its second phase 2017-2021, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's initiative for Arab agricultural investment in Sudan to contribute to bridging the food gap and achieving Arab food security.

In addition to the establishment of an Arab agreement for the exchange of plant genetic resources and heritage knowledge, the sharing of benefits arising from their use, the management of financial sustainability in the Arab countries and the subject of the knowledge economy in the Arab countries; and a draft resolution on the subject of refugees and displaced persons in Arab countries, Which led to an increase in the number of refugees and increased burdens on neighboring countries.
