The deputy in the House of Representatives Muhammad Kun, on Tuesday, raising the Kurdish flag on the official departments in the province of Kirkuk is a clear violation of the law.

"The lifting of the Kurdish flag in the province of Kirkuk violates the law because it belongs to the region," he said, adding that "there is no legal and constitutional impediment to raise it within the borders of the province alongside the Iraqi flag."

He added that "lifting it in other areas outside the borders of Kurdistan is unacceptable, especially in Kirkuk as a special situation and not part of the region."
