The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced on Monday that Iraq signed an economic and trade treaty with Jordan in the presence of Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade, Yaroub al-Qudah, while stressing the existence of an "understanding" on industrial cooperation between the two countries.

"Today, Iraq and Jordan signed a treaty covering economic and commercial aspects in the presence of Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply," said ministry spokesman Abdul Wahed al-Shammari in a press statement.

Shammari added that "the talks included understandings on industrial cooperation between the two countries," noting that "Baghdad and Oman look forward to economic and trade relations and the formation of joint committees."

The meetings of the 27th session of the Iraqi-Jordanian Joint Committee in Baghdad began at the level of agents of the Ministry of Industry in the two countries.
