Iraqi delegation plans to visit Saudi Arabia to activate bilateral relations

The delegation will be headed by Deputy Foreign Ministry commissioned by the Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to visit Saudi Arabia soon to follow up on activating talks between Baghdad and Riyadh and technical issues at all levels

The Saudi foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, visited Baghdad on Saturday morning in a surprise visit, unannounced

The visit is the first by a Saudi foreign minister to visit Baghdad since the invasion of the former regime of Kuwait in 1990

Jubeir stressed during his talks with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and his counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari that this visit is to restore bilateral relations back on track stressing the importance of exerting more efforts and cooperation in the fight against terrorism
