Here is an interesting article by MadScout in the Forum earlier today...

Rafidain Bank launches appeal to customers to recover the borrowed money

Rafidain Bank called on citizens beneficiaries of bank branches services deployed in Baghdad and the provinces to commit to pay the money from his trust and retrieval on schedule.

( Here they are asking people to be mindful of their obligations to pay the loan payments back on time and schedule )

Press office of the bank said in a statement, said the bank stresses the importance of dealing with transparency and integrity of the citizen by the beneficiary of the bank 's commitment to service and repay the amounts borrowed from the bank.

( They point out that as they, the bank, are committed to doing just by their customers, likewise the customer is obligated to do justly by the bank, in amounts borrowed )

He noted that the implementation of this step facilitates the continuation of the customer make use of bank services that are offered to him as well as to fulfill its commitments made by the bank towards the citizen.

( reminding customers that, the proper commitment to the obligations, will allow for the continued use of such bank services, as well as new ones being brought on line. )

BGG says(6:43 PM):
ALL of the above is what one would look to see in a developing free market economy - this is the beginnings of financial reforms.

BGG says(6:44 PM):
but what's coming in a few is HUGE>>>>>

Merkel Ebadi: We will send a special envoy to Iraq to support the "economic reform"

Roudao - Erbil - informed German Chancellor Angela Merkel , Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi, Saturday, sending a special envoy to Baghdad in the coming days to support the "economic reform" plans.

That would sound like Merkel wants someone there anytime after tomorrow?? And what is it that is so earth-shattering that they wanna' be involved?? Hmmmmmmmm??

He said al - Abadi 's office in a statement, that " the Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held in Munich today for a bilateral meeting and the meeting of joint talks, has been , during which the review of the advanced level reached by the relations between the two countries and the results of liberalization of Nineveh operations and supporting Iraqi troops and pay tribute to the sacrifices of Iraqis, as well as the reform program of the Iraqi government and issues of common interest in the region Search. "

wmawhite says to BGG(6:47 PM):
I wonder if this "special envoy" is anything similar to those representatives from the Federal Reserve and Bank of Neyw York that flew to Iraq just to say hello and you are doing a good job.

BGG says to wmawhite(6:47 PM):
NICE CATCH!!

wmawhite says to BGG(6:47 PM):
Sure..........those guys could have sent an e-mail and said the same thing.........

BGG says to wmawhite(6:48 PM):
Merkel said she instructed to "send a special envoy to Iraq in the coming days to support the government 's economic reform plans."

wmawhite says to BGG(6:48 PM):
But no..............they needed to be physically in Iraq and to meet face to face.......Hmmmm

BGG says to wmawhite(6:48 PM):
I am very curious as well.... what's this all about??

..."in the coming days to support the "economic reform" plans... ??

Really?!?

MadDScout says(6:49 PM):
There is some great momentum toward reforms on all fronts
Security being one

wmawhite says to BGG(6:49 PM):
long term important agreements are consumated face to face...

BGG says to MadDScout(6:50 PM):
Yesterday AM was some stunning developments - to be sure...

BGG says(6:51 PM):
Merkel stressed, according to the statement, "her country 's commitment to the unity of Iraq and supporting Germany continuously both directly and through NATO will expand in the field of military support," praising " the cleanliness of the battle and respect for human rights and the protection of civilians by Iraqi forces."

Merkel said she instructed to "send a special envoy to Iraq in the coming days to support the government 's economic reform plans."

BGG says(6:52 PM):
( Whatever the delay in Abadi and Alak's "forecast" statements - don't seem to be in play at the moment. This seems like something is going on in the near future... ?? )

wmawhite says to BGG(6:53 PM):
Hmmmmmm.............how does a country support another country in its economic reform plans?

BGG says(6:53 PM):
( again - I am just commenting on the current news... no particular forecast of my own )

wmawhite says to BGG(6:54 PM):
We don't need to make our forecasts...................they (GOI, PM, CBI) are making all of the forecasts for us.

BGG says(6:54 PM):
The Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi, arrived on Friday to Germany to participate in Munich Security Conference.

MERKEL WANTS TO LINE UP FOR THE MOOLA! RECONCILIATION SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING!

BGG says to wmawhite(6:57 PM):
much of the expectation we've all had - was directly inspired by Abadi and Alak. They are the ones telling us when they were going to "start the project"...

BGG says to beachandcountry(6:57 PM):
2 different points.

MrsBGG says to beachandcountry(6:57 PM):
please hold, if you have a comment you may use a ? mark, and well will call on you

MrsBGG says to beachandcountry(6:58 PM):

whatever "delay" Alak commented on - seems to drawing to a close.

2nd - the delay - appears to be the handling of Mosul. They expected this done sooner - it wasn't... looks like now it is.

That's the key - AND,

I fully expect some very good news coming out of Mosul this coming w
eek.

Iraq joins the transparency in the arbitration agreement between investors and states

Baghdad balances News - The Iraqi National Investment Commission, Saturday, on transparency in the arbitration agreement promissory between investors and states.
The head of the Sami al-Araji, said in a statement / balance News / received a copy of it, that "the Commission signed a transparency agreement in the arbitration promissory between investors and states, at United Nations Headquarters in New York City," noting that "bringing Iraq's second Arab state acceded to this agreement which preceded it 18 countries in the world. "

This JUST HAPPENDED - (the other day)...

He said al-Araji, that "the signing of the agreement represents an important signal to the international arena that Iraq is committed to all the rules of transparency in international arbitration in case of dispute between the investors and the states," and expressed hope that "Iraq is essential to attracting capital and center."

...the agreement represents an important signal to the international arena... BOOM!!

He explained, "The agreement means all contracts between states and investors will come into effect some of the entry of two other members, you also need to the Iraqi parliament's approval."

He said the President of the Commission, that "there are steps that must precede resort to international arbitration which, compromise and domestic courts, such as the Commercial Court in Iraq and the Court of investment soon, in the absence of conviction decision can resort to international arbitration," explaining that "it is in the interest of both parties state and the investor. "

He pointed out that "this agreement is one of the five agreements we signed earlier, the legislative and the environment in Iraq became one of the best in the region and is an important message to reassure investors that his rights reserved and respect for the application of the results of international arbitration."

And on the differences between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the company Dana Gas, Araji said: "I have no comment, because I do not know the privacy of the contract between the Kurdistan region and Dana, and I apologize for the answer to this question is that I did not have the clarity of vision and science and privileges parties rights."

beachandcountry says(7:15 PM):
MY OPINION............ THIS IS ACTUALLY

wmawhite says to BGG(7:15 PM):
This shows that the GOI has been signing agreements/conventions that we never knew about. The GOI has been doing this because they do not require the Parliament consent to do so.

BGG says to wmawhite(7:15 PM):
yes

He stressed that "any economic or administrative reform against corruption always welcome by the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government and the governments of the region process, and this is a fundamental goal we all strive to attract big investors and give more space for building and reconstruction through local and international Alasttmarin"

Okay please hold all questions and comments until they are done with this article...

BGG says(7:17 PM):
...“Iraq has issued a number of legislation that works to protect the investor and capital to do business in the country, at the forefront of investment law number 13 year 2006 and amendments which carries a lot of features and protection for investors, as well as important bilateral and international conventions signed by Iraq and the number of States”...

wmawhite says to BGG(7:19 PM):

IT's right out of article 22 of the Investment Law

these are CRITICAL items to the freedom of movement of capital in and out of Iraq.

BGG says to loop(7:25 PM):
( y )

BGG says(7:25 PM):
Here is Loop's commentary on this same report...

BGG says(7:26 PM):
Loop (Dinar Guru) - Article: "Iraq joined the Convention on the transparency between investors and states" Quote: "National Investment Commission announced on Wednesday it had signed an agreement on transparency in the arbitration treaty-based investor-State in 2014 at the United Nations headquarters in New York." What is very encouraging about...this article, is that it indicates that some of these international and bilateral agreements have already been signed. Which is right in line with Article 22 of the Investment Law...this is a very big tell. Why on earth would they even bother with these agreements unless they had every intention of needing them in the near future? [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

Read More: https://www.dinarupdates.com/observer/

loop says(7:27 PM):
The Article that Andrew found is so great for this investment.

BGG says(7:28 PM):
Big TIME>>>

Loop (Dinar Guru) - Investors will not come to Iraq in any meaningful way until they are sure that they can get their initial investments and profits out of Iraq whenever they choose to do so. Investors coming into Iraq is a major part to ensuring that Iraq realizes it’s vision of being one of the riches countries in the world... Now for the million dollar question. Is the investment law needed prior to an increase the purchasing power of the dinar? IMO...NOT HAVING THE INVESTMENT LAW PASSED WILL NOT STOP THEM FROM AN RV...HOWEVER IT DOES HAVE TO HAPPEN SHORTLY THERE AFTER IF THEY WANT THE WALL OF INVESTMENT CAPITAL TO COME IN A SUPPORT THE MOVE OTHERWISE THEIR ECONOMY MOST LIKELY WOULD FALTER...HUGE PIECE OF NEWS! [post 2 of 2]

BGG says(7:40 PM):
(for everyone FREAKING OUT ABOUT THE GOI "WITHDRAWING" RESERVES... That is NOT WHAT THEY WERE SAYING... this is just a "take it easy" commentary. Saying "we still have 49 billion USD" blah, blah, blah... SO RELAX)

(all old news - BTW - we've known all along the auctions and oil prices were nibbling away at their CBI reserves... )

loop says to BGG(7:41 PM):
What I found intersting about this the the other ALAK articles was that he was countering false reports from media outlets.

BGG says(7:41 PM):
(that's all they were saying )

in a strange way - he looks a little like Trump in that regard... constantly having to "counter-punch" against the media...

(lately).

wmawhite says(7:42 PM):
Besides,.................you need to know which reserves the article is referring to. The GOI has its own accounts.

Last nite...

Dick Miller asked...

I been following this dinar for 5 years .. I was really thinking in Dec 2016 they were close to move this, but know i am thinking maybe there more that needs to be done before a change .. Iam on the right track ?

Dick: Not exactly - we talked about this earlier... but

the expectation you mention was for good reason - both Abadi and Alak commented on that timeline (which was actually early 2017 - NOT Dec 2016, that was guru BS) and it was likely based on their internal idea about Mosul being liberated before now.

in the mean time - forward velocity continues on the financial front.

Last headline for the nite

Abadi meet in Munich Mcgork and Defence Minister of Pakistan and the Prosecutor General of the Court of The Hague

{Baghdad} Euphrates News US presidential envoy for international alliance against Daesh and Defence Minister of Pakistan and the Prosecutor General of the Court of The Hague both met with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi separately on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
