The electricity Ministry announced Monday that Iran has stopped supplying the national energy system, likely came because of the accumulation of debt owed by Iraq.

Ministry spokesman Musab teacher, said "the Iranian energy Ministry had stopped supplying the Iraqi national power system since yesterday evening, without informing the Ministry stop date".

The teacher said that the "national system had lost approximately 1200 megawatts of electricity it was supplying them through three high pressure lines (Mirsad-Diyala), (as a license-building), (Khorramshahr-Basrah) and high pressure lines (Serpil zehab-Khanaqin) 1.2.

The teacher pointed out that the Ministry stop reasons outweigh these lines from the Iranian side by the accumulation of debt owed by that over a billion dollars, despite an appeal by asking the Treasury to pay such amounts from the budget allocated to the Ministry of electricity. "

And Iran now and then cut off the electricity as a result of the accumulation of debt on the Ministry of electricity as a result of energy imports from Iran.
