Iraq, relations with Turkey back on track

Fuad Masoum, President of Iraq on 28 Dec. 2016, met with Faruk Kamyakçi, ambassador of Turkey to Iraq, in Baghdad.
As the Ambassador’s service is reaching its end, the President expressed his gratitude and appreciation for his efforts in strengthening Iraq-Turkey relations , especially at these times in which *Iraq-Turkey relations aren’t at its best.
Masoum assured that Iraq is willing to make relations better with Turkey as well for the neighboring countries , to increase mutual benefits and bring peace to the area while achieving success in the fight against ISIS*
Mr. Kaymakçi, has been appointed as the ambassador of the republic of Turkey in Iraq since 1 Oct. 2013, and is now reaching the end of his work in Iraq.
The ambassador assured that Turkey is willing to open a new page in 2017 to strengthen the bridge of collaboration between the two countries and to do hard work in overcoming the hanging problem between Iraq and Turkey , and to revive the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSC) to further develop the Iraq-Turkey relations .
