ERBIL, May 13 Two of Iraq's most senior leaders have agreed that the political parties must implement proposed paperwork, in particular the Erbil agreement, to end the political crisis that has engulfed the country since the withdrawal of US troops.

A statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency said that President Jalal Talabani and Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh Muhamed al-Mutlaq, agreed at a meeting in Baghdad to resolve the crisis through dialogue and adherence to the constitution.

The most recent paper, the Erbil Agreement, which agreed on by four Iraqi leaders and included eight demands, was singled out in the statement.

The document, which was signed on March 28, (typo) says that in a case of refusal to abide by the principles and frames of the agreement, practical steps will be taken within a period not exceeding 15 days to vote on withdrawing confidence in the government.

The letter also asked the Iraqi government to stop interfering in the work of the security forces and House of Representatives, and included a paragraph criticizing the "tyranny in decision-making."

The political crisis erupted after an an arrest warrant was issued against Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki demanded that the Council of Representatives dismiss Mutlaq.
