Iran, Iraq stress further expansion of bilateral relations - BBC Monitoring Service

Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani has met Iraqi President Fuad Masum at Al-Salam Palace where the two sides discussed important bilateral issues, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on 31 October.


According to the report, the two sides stressed further expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries.


Regional developments in particular countering-terrorism and cooperation between the two countries in the international arenas were the main topics of discuss between the two sides, IRNA report added.


Iranian judiciary chief has described his meeting with officials of Iraq's judiciary body as positive and said: "The judicial and legal cooperation between the two countries will expand in various sectors."


For his part, Iraqi President Fuad Masum has welcomed the expansion of cooperation between the two counties in various fields including judicial and legal arenas, IRNA report further added.
