UNICEF supports Iraq by more than half a million dollars for social protection

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Wednesday, UNICEF support for Iraq Organization estimated 550,000 dollars to contribute to the implementation of the rest of the paragraphs of the new Law on Social Protection.

He said Labour Minister Mohammed Shia 'Al Sudani said in a statement received "Economy News" copy of it, "the ministry discussed during a meeting with a delegation from UNICEF, the task of supporting social research to prepare a database of beneficiaries below the poverty line."

Sudan, adding that "UNICEF will provide support to the body social protection about 550 thousand dollars to contribute to the implementation of the rest of the paragraphs of the Law on Social Protection," pointing out that "the ministry will employ this support towards the appointment of social workers as a temporary contract for the purpose of completing the task of social research."

As he emphasized that "the meeting also included a discussion of Social Survey for the families of the poor in terms of the enjoyment of education and health services and housing as an important maturity and Iraq will be the first countries in the region that will take place this study and at the same time, the law employs to address the needs of poor families who will be under the umbrella of social protection." .

Sudan and pointed out that "the organization expressed its full readiness to enter the details of the case study and installation of poor families indicators in the field of education, health and housing to enable the organization and the ministry is also working to address the adverse effects of the poor, whether through coordination with the relevant ministries or through subsidies, conditional cash that will be an integral part within the law, as well as social benefits.
