BAGHDAD, April 28 (AKnews) - The State of Law Coalition (SLC) said today that holding meetings outwith the invitation of President Jalal Talabani will "complicate" the political scene and lead to a lack of seriousness in efforts to resolve political differences.

The President of the Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani called for convening a meeting in Erbil for political leaders on May 7 to discuss the political crisis.

SLC leader Khalid al-Asadi said the coalition will only meet for calls made by President Jalal Talabani, whether for the National Coalition's (NC) conference preparatory committee or the conference itself.

The Kurdish Blocs Coalition (KBC) authorized members of the preparatory committee to prepare the working paper for the conference after Iraqiya List refused to attend the meeting.

Asadi, a member of the preparatory committee, added: "The paper prepared by the NC about the agenda of the conference will be presented among the preparatory committee and it will be submitted after agreement by the president to set a date for holding the conference.

"If Iraqiya participates in the meeting of the preparatory committee we will vote on the paper, and if it does not participate we will submit the paper to the president."

The Iraqiya List led by former prime minister Ayad Allawi announced previously that it will not participate in the meetings of the preparatory committee or the national conference if PM Nouri al-Maliki does not implement five demands, some of which are related to the Erbil agreements.
