MP criticizes government supervision on CBI

MP, Najiba Najib, threatened that the Committee will have a stance over the supervision of the government on the Central Bank of Iraq.
She stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Tuesday “It is a dangerous issue to make the government supervise the Central Bank which is not for the benefit of Iraq,”assuring the refusal of the Committee to “Make it related to the government.”
“The independence of the Central Bank will enables it to keep the value of the Iraqi currency towards the other currencies,” she concluded.
Earlier, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, announced, during Saturday parliament session, that he sent a message to the PM, Nouri al-Maliki, asking him not to “Interfere in the work of the CBI and showing its duties and objectives.” /End
