It revealed close to the Iranian Foreign Ministry sources, on the presence of cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in the holy city of Qom in Iran, saying that it does not intend to return to Iraq at the present time.

The sources told "Iran's diplomatic site" and seen by "Sky Press," that "Muqtada al-Sadr is now in the city of Qom, the religious center in Iran is important," indicating that he "does not intend to return to Iraq until further notice."

The sources added that "Muqtada al-Sadr wants to stay in Iran for an indefinite period."

Iranian website said that "the Iranian Foreign Ministry refuted the official visit to Muqtada al-Sadr and his meeting with senior Iranian officials, not its presence in the city of Qom."+

The cleric Moqtada al-Sadr had left Najaf airport on his way to Iran, on board an Air Iranian aircraft.

The al-Sadr announced i'tikaaf political activity for two months after the parliament failed to convene a session to vote on the independent ministers within the reform project led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
