Oil Minister: keen to strengthen ties with Shell to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation

Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, Sunday, that Iraq is keen to strengthen ties and communication with Shell to discuss the prospects of expanding cooperation and follow-up projects in the development of oil fields.

The ministry said in a statement seen by Alsumaria News, "The Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi met, today, the CEO of Shell in Iraq, Hans Naamekp, and discussed with him the bilateral cooperation between the two sides in the field of oil industry."

He stressed Abdul-Mahdi, according to the statement, that "Iraq is keen to strengthen ties and communication with discreet international companies, including Shell, to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation and follow-up projects in the development of oil fields in the gas sector."

For his part, Naamekp praised "the efforts of the ministry aimed to provide the appropriate conditions for the work of foreign companies operating in Iraq," stressing the desire of his company to "implement plans to develop the oil and gas industry in Iraq."

The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stressed, in (February 8, 2015), the President of the company, "Shell" to make the utmost effort to overcome the obstacles to the work of companies and investors in Iraq.
