QAMISHLI – Moroccan police arrested on Friday a terror cell linked to the radical group of the Islamic State (ISIS).
The ministry of interior said in a statement that a special police force launched a raid in Casablanca and arrested seven jihadists “who were planning terror attacks”.
“The initial interrogations revealed that the head of the terror cell has strong links to leading members of the ISIS terror organization,” Morocco’s interior ministry said.
The suspects had visited Syria and received training at the hands of ISIS militants.
“They have recently returned home to carry out terrorist attacks on the Moroccan soil,” the statement added.
