Iraqi military commander: Army begins Ramadi attack within hours

Iraqi state television said, quoting Chief of Army Staff Othman Ghanimi as saying that Iraqi armed forces will begin in the next few hours operation to regain control of the city of Ramadi, the organization of Islamic militants from the state.

Ghanimi said an operation was underway to control the sector in preparation for an attack on the heart of the city in the coming hours.

A spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Defense earlier that the militants of the Islamic State citizens are prevented from leaving the gray before the attack on the city, which fell into the grip of the organization in May.
